With a grandfather named Fred who was a carpenter, and a father named Fred who was a carpenter, Fred P. Doppler, Jr. figures his destiny was pretty much sealed from birth – to one day take up the mantle of the family business – Fred C. Doppler & Sons, Inc.
In his earlier days, in addition to working on the Fred C. Doppler & Sons roofing crew, Fred also put his love of music to work, designing and printing T-shirts – with the blessing of the musicians themselves – which he and his partners sold nation-wide. He also pursued his interest in architecture at Purdue University, before leaving to work full time to take care of his young family.
Fred absorbed all aspects of the business through the years and was in position to take ownership of the business after his father and uncle both retired, and was pleased and proud to be able to bring both of his sons into the business as it grew.
Today, although many of his peers are looking at retirement, Fred is still happy to go about his business meeting with customers, designing their projects and working with his employees and partner trades to keep Northwest Indiana beautiful.
